Over 400 engineers inspired to put life on the line

What do 400+ engineers have in common? They were inspired by Perry's latest inspirational, thought-provoking presentation at EES Portland. Where did we learn that hard work, dedication, education and thrift lead to virtue, happiness and security? This is the question more than 400 unemployed engineers explored in Perry's keynote speech at the 2009 Engineering Employment Symposium. During his keynote, Perry lead audience members through a highly personal, intimate exploration of one of many uncontested life models we call "truth," models that keep us living mediocre lives. Then he challenged audience members to consider that a life worth living is a life put at risk. Sounds scary. The paradox is, when we do that, we realize our dreams.

Perry hit a nerve and the evaluations prove the point. Ninety evaluations were returned. The results:

Covered topic as advertised: 94% Agreed/Strongly Agreed
Provided valuable/relevant info: 92% Agreed/Strongly Agreed
Presenter was knowledgeable/credible: 97% Agreed/Strongly Agreed
Would recommend to others: 94% Agreed/Strongly Agreed
