Ten obvious signs you're on the conscious awakening path
Whether you practice in solitude or in a sangha, whether your practice is yoga, or non-religious meditation, drumming or some other consciousness practice, your connection to deep conscious awareness represents both an end in itself as well as a means to an end. Presumably you are seeking a deep and profound connection to the oneness that is our true nature. Hopefully that includes demonstrating through your behaviors the benefits of such a connection. Here are ten indicators you may use as a guide to determine if your practice is taking you where you want to go. Remember they are only guides.
By far not a complete list, here are selected works to rattle your mind and prepare you for the future, whether you are a neophyte in leading humanity or already deeply connected to conscious awareness. Take your time, peruse these materials. You'll be glad you did.
People who work confront the same workplace issues time and again: bad bosses, sagging job performance, interpersonal problems, bad hires, bad human behavior. In a study published by the Journal of Global Business Issues in 2008, researchers asked: "What do you consider the three greatest problem areas in today's work organizations and why?" By far the highest percentage of problems reported - 78 percent - were in "interpersonal problems."
Perry Gruber Limited keynotes, presentations and events offer people who work a compelling story, where they are the heroes, where work is noble, and where people thrive. Our workplace series offers practical ways to overcome some of the most challenging aspects of bringing people together to get things done. Find out more...
How to manage fear in the workplace and thrive while doing so
In today's economy, one thing is certain: people are afraid. Bad bosses, sagging job performance, layoffs and budget reductions compound the issue. Stress at home makes things even harder for employees to stay focused and function effectively
in the workplace. Download this brochure to read more about this timely presentation.
How to overcome human tendencies that degrade organizational effectiveness
The Journal of Global Business Issues published a study in its 2008 conference edition that showed interpersonal issues are by far the biggest problem in work organizations. Issues identified included: lack of communication, unethical behavior, teamwork problems and poor management, no responsibility, too much conflict, arrogance and selfishness. Sound familiar? A Businessweek article (4/23/2007, Issue 4031) noted that people who work in Chinese organizations adopting western-styled business approaches are now experiencing similar challenges: "So far, [Chinese] employees have confronted the same issues that Americans struggle with: bad bosses, sagging job performance, disappointed spouses and kids." Workplace experiences are universal. Yet emerging research is showing a strong correlation between certain workplace development methods and positive organizational performance. What methods is this research pointing to? Those we employ to help you create work teams you want. Download this brochure to read more.
Emily has been at this employer just six months and she already has one foot out the door. Think this is an extreme example? It's not. Up to two-thirds of employees are either looking for jobs or going through the motions at work according to researcher and author Judith M. Bardwick, Ph.D. This is not what your company needs in any economy, but especially our current one. More bad news: the people you'd like to leave are going to stay unless you are willing lay them off. And those you'd prefer to keep...well, they're the ones weighing their options. Like Emily. Creating high performing teams is not just a leader's responsibility, it's everyone's responsibility. In this presentation, participants discover how people who work can incrementally develop existing teams into high performing ones through applied co-creation and optimism. Optimism's Argument isn't about feel-good theories, or quick fix approaches to teambuilding, it is a real-world look at what is happening in your organization and then coming up with a road map for getting from the team you have to the team you want. It requires participants to take a hard look at themselves, roll up their sleeves and commit to shaping their own reality with capabilities they naturally possess.
At Perry Gruber Limited, the fundamental definition of servant leadership is "an understanding and practice of leadership that places the good of those led over the self-interest of the leader." This event is a deep exploration of servant leadership, the benefits that could accrue to the organization and its people and potential pitfalls and how to avoid them.
More of an advanced exploration of servant leadership, this event should be seen as a follow-on to How to create servant leadership within your organization. If you consider your organization on the cutting edge of organizational development
and you want to seriously consider implementing servant leadership as well as other Perry Gruber Limited technologies in your work group, this event is for you.
You've been laid off. Your plant is moving to another state and you're faced with moving with it. Your team is merging with another team. Or into another company. Or it's been "reorganized." You're moving to join a new team...
Workplace changes can suck. Being stressed out about them sucks even more. What's Next is Mostly Mental is a hard-hitting, provocative somewhat humorous workshop that pits people against their ordinary response to the most fearful work-related circumstances - job loss, the threat of job loss, dramatic workplace change, (such as mergers and acquisitions), dealing with difficult people - and uses those circumstances to uncover one's natural ability to thrive in the face of fear. Using similar techniques now being used to train U.S. combat troops for war, What's Next is Mostly Mental is for everyone who wants to uncover their own courage and learn how to tap into it when it is most needed: as a means to get to what's next.
